WordPress heatmaps

Heatmaps for WordPress that don’t weigh it down.

WordPress heatmap tools either send your visitors’ clicks to an outside service, like Clarity, Crazy Egg or Mouseflow, or store them in your own WordPress database, like Aurora Heatmap. ReplaStats records click and scroll heatmaps and session replays on its own analytics server, sets no cookies, and includes the WordPress plugin. From $9 a month.

What it records

Where they click, how far they read, what they did

Click heatmaps

Where people click on each page, so you can see which buttons work and which get ignored.

Scroll depth

How far down each page people get, so you know whether anyone reaches the offer at the bottom.

Session replays

A visit played back as it happened, up to five minutes by default, with form fields masked so nothing anyone types is captured.

Heatmaps and replays sit beside your traffic, sources and top pages, so the page that loses people and the reason it does are in one place. They come with every paid plan, are switched on per site, and record a sample of visits: 15% by default, which can be raised.

Getting it

Heatmaps on your WordPress site in four steps

  1. Choose Starter or above and tell us your site.
  2. Upload the plugin we send you and activate it. It arrives already connected.
  3. We switch on replays and heatmaps for the site.
  4. Open the site in your ReplaStats dashboard to see the heatmaps and replays. Your traffic reports also show inside wp-admin.

Not on WordPress? The same works with one line of code on Shopify, Webflow, Wix or anything else. See the install page.

Questions people ask

Do heatmaps slow WordPress down?

Not with ReplaStats: the data goes to our analytics server rather than your database, and the script loads deferred. Plugins that store heatmap data inside WordPress add to your database instead.

Where do I see the heatmaps?

In your ReplaStats dashboard, in the browser. The plugin inside wp-admin shows your traffic reports; heatmaps and replays open on the dashboard.

Is there a free heatmap plugin for WordPress?

Microsoft Clarity is free, and Aurora Heatmap has a free version that stores its data inside WordPress. Clarity sets cookies and needs a consent signal for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland.

Do I need a cookie banner for ReplaStats heatmaps?

Not for ReplaStats: it sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor’s browser. Other tools on your site that set cookies may still need one.

Which plans include heatmaps?

Every paid plan: Starter is $9 a month for one site, Pro $19 for ten and Agency $49 for unlimited sites. The Free plan has no heatmaps or replays.
